SailEdge™ by SailrScience is live. The product line is R10 — the DSYHS IGES hull library edition; the physics engine rides its own release track and currently runs R16. User and Partner accounts are live: sign in, license your boat, and your boat and certificate travel with you. Explainability and partner-workflow upgrades ahead.

SailrScience development roadmap as a coastal passage chart — Annapolis to Bermuda with R7–R13 milestones as port stops along the route

Last updated: August 2026. The ports on this chart are product milestones (R7–R13). The physics engine is versioned on its own track and currently runs release R16 — physics releases ship inside product releases, not as ports of their own.

Development Timeline

The full roadmap

Q4 2025

R7 — Physics Foundation Done

Core physics engine. 20-boat validation fleet. Dual polar architecture. Full extraction pipeline from ORC certificates. The foundation is solid.

Q1 2026

R8 — Interactive Explorer Done

The sail plan explorer. Select configurations, see performance surfaces, understand trade-offs visually. Physics meets interface.

Q1 2026

R9 — SailEdge Done

The first SailEdge release: upload your ORC certificate and your Digital Twin builds itself in seconds — the Edge Map, per-sail force attribution, whole-boat outcome, and Expert Mode for lofts and naval architects. The live line is R10, below.

Q3 2026

R10 — SailEdge: the DSYHS IGES Hull Library Edition + User and Partner Accounts Live

The live SailEdge line runs the R16 physics release: a DSYHS runtime hydro backbone (52 IGES-derived Delft-series reference hulls) with bounded follow-on lanes, per-sail force attribution, whole-boat outcome, bounded professional tuning surfaces, and role-centered workflows for lofts and naval architects. From the cockpit to the kitchen table, your edge travels with you.

User and Partner accounts are live. Sign in, save your boat, and pick up where you left off. One SailrScience account carries per-product entitlements, and partner organizations hold entitlements their members inherit. A SailEdge license is US $99 per boat, per year, plus applicable tax: it binds to your boat at the first certificate you convert, your boat and certificate are saved on your account (“Your boats”), and you renew any time. Racers

Upload your certificate, pick your sails, change your crew weight, see your edge. Self-service Sail Studies and pre-loaded regime packs let you compare configurations in minutes.

For Racers →

Sail Lofts

Expert Mode with Sail Tuning — bounded per-sail tuning, sailmaker overlay profiles, and per-sail physics fingerprints. The Sail Tuning Library that persists and distributes them to your fleet is planned for R11.

For Sailmakers →

Naval Architects

Expert Mode with Boat Tuning — review the live R16 runtime hydro and save a portable NA profile. Boat Tuning Libraries that propagate your calibration to every boat in the class are planned for R11.

The Edge Map

The exact delta in seconds per mile — by wind angle, across the full range. Foil-aware aero. Per-sail drive breakdowns. Whole-boat outcome. Confidence indicators on every cell.

R11 — Business Tools Next

API access and white-label integration for lofts running Edge Maps under their own brand. Calibration programs with audit trails let lofts run repeatable tuning cycles tied to real conditions. Export and report templates turn Edge Map results into client-ready deliverables. SailEdge™ by SailrScience powers the physics — you own the relationship. Server-side Sail Tuning Libraries and Boat Tuning Libraries that persist named tuning profiles and hull calibrations and distribute them to a loft’s fleet or a class, and partner portals with dedicated secure servers and calibration history under NDA. Learn about loft partnerships →

The live R16 physics release closes the physics foundation: every boat loads from a certificate, every partner owns their calibration, every analysis is reproducible, the runtime carries the DSYHS hull library, and a crew weight what-if puts stability analysis in every license holder’s hands.

As of R16.4: DSYHS hull mapping — the best-fitting of 52 IGES-derived Delft Systematic Yacht Hull Series reference geometries matched to your certificate and shown with cross sections — and certificate-derived stability: righting moment and heel behavior computed from the certificate alone, no hull file, every result carrying a stated confidence grade or an honest refusal. No evidence, no number. How the Hydro Model does it →

Next on the physics track: sea-state modeling on the DSYHS backbone — how a boat’s speed changes when waves add resistance, solved inside the same force balance. Exploring; directional.

FleetEdge™ — Fleet Analytics Live

FleetEdge™ by SailrScience is live — fleet-wide analytics built from ORC and IRC certificate physics. 9,591 ORC boats scored (11,207 analyzed within a 12,965-boat governed corpus, July 2026), 8 performance archetypes (the 2026 census), nine dimension families across 20+ nations. Filter by nation, event, class, or rating system. Built on patent-pending physics. Explore FleetEdge → See the FleetEdge product roadmap →

R13 — The Connected Digital Twin Exploring

Expanding from certificate-based intelligence into a connected ecosystem — where your ORC baseline, your sail inventory, and your on-water telemetry work together. We’re exploring integrations with navigation and logbook platforms (e.g., Orca), weather and data hubs (e.g., PredictWind DataHub), and racing instrument stacks (e.g., B&G, Raymarine). The goal: bring real sailing data into the twin, keep onboard systems consistent with your Edge Map, and build a trusted baseline that grows beyond ORC as reputable data sources become available.

Roadmap items are directional and may change as we validate data availability and integration pathways.
