Short version: we don’t track you, we don’t use cookies, and we only collect what you give us through the contact form.
Short version: we don’t track you, we don’t use cookies, and we only collect what you give us through the contact form.
When you submit the contact form, we collect your name, email address, boat type, and any details you choose to share about your sail plan. We use this information solely to respond to your inquiry and communicate with you about your boat. Your Digital Twin is built from the ORC certificate you upload in the App — not from this form.
We do not sell, rent, or share your information with third parties. We do not run analytics. We do not use tracking pixels, fingerprinting, or any form of behavioral monitoring. There is no advertising on this site.
ORC certificate data used in your Digital Twin comes from publicly available ORC records. Sail cut-sheet data you provide is used only for your analysis and is not shared with other users or partners unless you explicitly authorize it through a partner engagement.
Partner programs: If you engage through a sail loft or naval architect partner, your configuration data may be stored server-side in a dedicated partner environment under the terms of that partnership. The physics engine itself remains stateless — inputs in, results out, nothing retained between computations.
What you upload: your ORC certificate (the HTML certificate file), and — if you work with a loft — sail cut-sheet data (JSON).
Where it lives: your certificate is read in your browser and sent to our conversion service, which transforms it and returns your boat. Without an account, your boat lives in your browser session — SailEdge does not write your boat data to local storage or cookies. With a Personal or Partner Account, the boat and tuning data you choose to save is stored in your account and managed through it.
How long: session data lasts as long as your page is open — closing or refreshing discards it (export your boat to a file to keep it). Account-saved data is retained until you remove it or close the account.
How to delete: delete the boat in the App, close the page, or — for account-saved data — remove it from your account.
What we derive: the twin’s computed data (polar anchors, stability model, sail geometry) lives with your boat and follows the same storage, retention, and deletion as the boat itself.
Compute lanes: point and map computations send your boat’s data to our compute service and return results. The physics engine is stateless — inputs in, results out, nothing retained between computations — and that holds on every lane. Service logs carry request metadata only; boat identity is fingerprinted, never logged in the clear. Account storage, where you use it, sits beside the engine — it never changes what a computation retains.
SailEdge™ by SailrScience provides directional performance intelligence for sail plan decisions. It is not a rating system, not a replacement for ORC certification, and not a substitute for professional sailmaking or naval architecture judgment.
All performance deltas, force decompositions, and Edge Map outputs are computed from models anchored to ORC certificate data. Results are directional — they indicate where one configuration is likely faster or slower than another, not absolute speed predictions.
The SailEdge app at sailedge.science is provided as-is. We reserve the right to update the models, methodology, and interface at any time.
